For over a year now, i’ve been running a Wedding Photography Training programme for aspiring Wedding Photographers. As part of that the mentee gets to practice their couples photography on a real shoot with me to learn how i create natural, relaxed images and how to ‘pose’ couples without really posing them- this time it was Sally & Matt’s turn!
Sally is a Wedding Photographer herself – no pressure there then! Being a Wedding Photographer usually means we prefer to be behind the camera and can be some of the worst to photograph (I think i speak for my very awkward non photogenic self here!) So when they turned up, giggling and canoodling from the off, it’s fair to say it made our job considerably easier!
Wedding Photography Training
I was working with aspiring Wedding Photographer Amy throughout the shoot to show her how i interact with couples to make them feel comfortable. The most important thing for me is that all my couples feel relaxed and have FUN! So i tend to spend most of the session chatting to them with a few fun little games to get them to forget about the camera.
We met at the lovely Oakhill Park in Accrington not far from where i live. I love this park as it has so much variety which is perfect for an engagement session as we can walk around the park naturally working with the light. The flowers were just starting to bloom over on one side of the park so we had some amazing backdrops for our session.
Here’s just a few of my favourites from their session. For more information on Wedding Photography Training follow the link.
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out Sally & Matt’s couples session as part of the Wedding Photography Training course.
