For Wedding Photographers West Yorkshire has so much to offer, from rolling countryside and beautiful moors to some of the best wedding venues. There’s not many places quite like Yorkshire or that can rival its beautiful scenery.
I occasionally get lucky enough to cross the border into Yorkshire for a wedding and it always makes for a scenic road trip on the way.
West Yorkshire wedding venues are hugely varied in their style and offering so there’s something for everyone from stunning stately homes and mansions to barns and village halls, no matter what style of wedding you are planning there is sure to be something to get you excited.
I have pulled together some of my recommended West Yorkshire hotspots be that wedding venues, or just beautiful photography locations; if you’re planning a wedding in the West Yorkshire area you might find this helpful before you decide on the venue.
The New Hobbit

Haley & Brandon’s relaxed wedding at the New Hobbit in Halifax, set on top of the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside, it’s a country pub with a difference, its beautifully decorated and has a separate function room which is licensed for wedding ceremonies and large enough to hold a hefty number of guests for the wedding breakfast.
It also provides the perfect setting for a romantic, relaxed wedding with views across Halifax and West Yorkshire and winding country lanes which are ideal for wedding photography. This venue also boasts some of the loveliest wedding venue staff I have met so far, they literally can’t do enough for the guests and even offered me a brew when I arrived- it doesn’t take much to win my approval!

The Mansion- Roundhay Park in Leeds
The Mansion is a stunning grade 2 listed building set within the beautiful Roundhay Park in Leeds. The perfect setting for a luxurious fairy tale wedding and just 15 minutes from central Leeds so if you have guests travelling in from all over the country, this is a great choice.
Steeped in history, the mansion is packed with period features and makes the most beautiful setting for any classic romantic wedding.
Ilkely Moors
If you’re looking for somewhere in the West Yorkshire area for stunning portraits on your wedding day, go check out the Moors in Ilkely. The scenery around the Cow and Calf Rocks is just stunning and will give you the perfect epic scenery for beautiful wedding photographs.
To get there just head for the Cow and Calf Pub in Ilkely and theres parking both there and also at the base of the rocks which you’ll see from the main road. Its only a 5 minute hike up the hill and on a clear day you can see all across Yorkshire and into Lancashire from up there. The heather changes colour with the seasons and gives a lovely vibrant backdrop.

Broughton Hall Estate
Broughton Hall is the perfect venue if you are looking for something a little different. It has three sites to choose from across the estate and all are set within its stunning grounds which are bound to delight your guests. Theres the main house which includes accommodation so if you’re looking for a giant house party that lasts all weekend you’re on to a winner! Then theres Eden which has a huge garden where you can site a marquee, tipis and perfect for a festival styled wedding. If you’re looking for something more contemporary there’s utopia which is a modern styled restaurant within a private walled garden and can hold 80-120 guests.
Whichever you choose you’ll have use of the stunning historical backdrop, what an amazing location!

Hollins Hall – Marriott Hotel & Country Club

Hollins Hall is situated inside 200 acres of lush landscaped gardens, just a few miles from Bradford West Yorkshire. It boasts 7 different event spaces and a capacity of upto 200 guests giving you endless options if you choose this as your wedding venue.
I have photographed weddings here on numerous occasions and the staff are fantastic, on the ball and do everything they can to make the day perfect.
