Hannah & Sam

Hannah & Sam’s fabulous Holmes Mill Wedding was an absolute delight.

Hannah & Sam first locked eyes when they met at work at Burnley College many moons ago. Although it wasn’t until years later that love blossomed and they became an item 7 years ago. When it came to the time to propose Sam whisked Hannah away to the secluded spot they had visited for their very first mini break together in the lakes. Not letting on that she didn’t realise it was the same place, Hannah was delighted when Sam got down on one knee and said she couldn’t answer for the floods of tears! Ahhh I do love a good engagement story!

Holmes Mill Wedding

Holmes Mill is a fairly new wedding venue in the centre of Clitheroe in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Set amongst the rolling hills, farmland and beautiful scenery that make up this lovely northern valley in the North West.

Holmes Mill is part of James’ places which also own Mitton Hall, Eaves Hall, Shireburn Arms; some of the best wedding venues in the Ribble Valley. The venue is perfect for rustic, industrial lovers or couples wanting a venue steeped in history and its blank yet character filled rooms make a great neutral backdrop for a wedding that somehow doesn’t seem to need much decorating. With a huge bar downstairs and a hotel next-door, Holmes Mill has everything.

Hannah & Sam wanted their Holmes Mill Wedding to be fun and informal, a day their guests could enjoy and booked me because they wanted a relaxed Photographer and natural coverage.

I had such a fun day with them and their lovely friends and family. The weather was unbelievably kind to us for February and after a handful of family groups Hannah and Sam requested we had some fun wandering around the ginnel for their couple portraits, even Sam seemed to enjoy himself despite telling me he hates being photographed! It’s always my main priority to make the portraits fun and not to keep my couples away from their guests for too long.

The guests enjoyed a super scrummy BBQ wedding breakfast followed by a gorgeous trio of speeches. Finishing off the night with an absolute bang, Soul City Sounds packed out the dance floor with Soul, Funk and Mowton hits. Seriously if you haven’t heard of them, look them up!

The newlyweds jetted off to France for a mini moon straight after the Wedding and are saving their Honeymoon for the summer as Hannah is a primary school teacher.
