A gorgeous winter wedding in the castle-like Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa in Accrington.

On a frosty winters day in between Christmas and New Year I had the pleasure of joining Jane and Neil at the Dubkenhalgh Hotel in Accrington for a perfect wintry wedding. I live around 2 miles from the Dunkenhalgh so its always lovely to be able to work so close to home, especially at this time of year.

Jane and Neil chose red tartan for their colour scheme, which was a nod to the family heritage but also very fitting two days after Christmas. Jane wore a fabulous white lace full length dress which suited her perfectly and Neil was looking super smart in a suit with a red tartan tie. Bridesmaids finished the ensemble to perfection with red lace tea length dresses and with one bridesmaid unable to make it a freakishly real life size cut out took her place! She even made it into the group photos!

With a choir singing Jane down the aisle, it was always going to be an emotional one, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as they sang a thousand years as Jane and her dad made their way in. The wedding breakfast tables were named after football players who were playing in Neil’s favourite team the year they met and all guests were given scratch cards- including one fake one for £100,000 which i’m sure caused a stir during the wedding breakfast!

The party was just as eventful as the day, it was shots galore as the guests got in the mood for the evenings festivities and the dance floor was packed from the band’s first set, my favourite time of day, capturing some great dance floor moves!
