A lovely Castlefield Rooms Wedding in Manchester
James and Kerstin met on a night out in Bolton, where James is from. In keeping with family tradition James wanted to propose within the first year just like Kerstin’s late father had done to her mum. So on a weekend away in Edinburgh he popped the question, and obviously, she said yes!
I went over to see Kerstin and her family at the Arora Hotel where she was getting ready in the morning. It was quite possibly the most relaxed bridal preparations i’ve seen in ages! Kerstin is a spreadsheet girl (much like me!) and her organisation definitely paid off on the day and allowed her to relax even despite the rainiest weather of the year!
After a lovely ceremony at the Pankhurst Suite the newlyweds headed off for a romantic drive as we all made our way across Manchester City Centre to the Castlefield Rooms.

The Castlefield Rooms are two separate function suites above Dukes 52 and Alberts Shed in Castlefield, Manchester City Centre. It’s a pretty cool space for a Wedding as slap bang in the middle of Castlefield and surrounded by some amazing locations for wedding photographs! The canal runs alongside both sides of the venue. There’s bridges galore and red brick heaven giving the perfect urban landscape. The venue itself is lovely inside with floor to ceiling windows running along both sides of the room and a wall of fairy lights behind the dance floor which looks pretty magical at night!
The function suite had been lovingly transformed into a beautiful wedding reception with lanterns hanging from the ceiling and lovely personal touches decorating each table.
After the wedding breakfast came the refreshingly hilarious speeches from the bridesmaids, sister of the bride and the groom and his best man. I do love a good speech!
