Bowes Museum Engagement photos in the picturesque village of Barnard Castle

These two are just the loveliest couple, Claire was looking for a Wedding Photographer a few months ago  and found me on Rock My Wedding‘s Love Lust List where we are honoured to be one of the top wedding suppliers. We talked about how they met, their  mutual love of sport, work and everything they were planning for their wedding day and before we knew it, two hours had gone by! All of my couples are wonderful but sometimes, you really ‘click’ with people and think “this wedding is going to be especially amazing!”.

They are getting married at a beautiful local church in the lovely picturesque town of Barnard Castle where Claire is from, and then holding their wedding reception at the amazing Bowes Museum in a huge marquee.

I travelled up to Barnard Castle a few weeks ago to meet them and Claire and Rick showed me around the area whilst we did their engagement session, the quaint little town is full of history with original shop fronts, the butter mart roundabout and gorgeous countryside that surrounds the village- I didn’t want to go home! I got to meet Claire’s lovely family at their home and Claire’s dad had even painted the front door in case there were any photographs of their beautiful home on the big day- what a star!

We decided to use the gorgeous town for their engagement session; from the moment I drove up the hill I felt totally inspired by everything, the big old doors on all the shop fronts and houses, the old untouched architecture, vintage signs in windows; this place is right up my street- excuse the pun!
