A classic romantic wedding at Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle
Set in the picturesque town or Barnard Castle these two tied the knot a few weeks ago and I was absolutely thrilled to be their wedding photographer– the day was even more perfect than we imagined!
I had already had a tour of the area when we met up for the engagement session a few weeks earlier, so I was very excited about photographing their wedding. The weather forecast leading up to the big day was terrible with heavy rain forecast all day so we were prepared for a downpour.
Claire wore a stunning Augusta Jones backless dress and remained so relaxed during bridal preparations despite the gathering rain clouds outside. The ceremony was both funny and emotional and even brought a tear to my eye as I photographed Ricks emotional vows.
Against all the odds the rain didn’t come until we had finished all the photographs (someone was definitely looking down on us!) Then it was time for the speeches, touching and hilarious with the best man sharing embarrassing stories from times with his best mate and a rather tame and classy stag do!
Claire & Rick are the kind of people that you meet and instantly like, they felt so much like friends that I was really sad to leave them at the end of the night. And the venue, well lets just say I would get married here myself, Bowes Museum is easily THE most beautiful place I have ever photographed a wedding and not only was the place gorgeous but Rosie- the Events Coordinator was so lovely and made sure everything was perfect, even coming in on her day off!
Lastly, thank you to my amazing second photographer Catherine Kerr from Eyecapture for all your help on the day.
