Gemma & John’s Tipi Wedding was just absolute wedding loveliness. They planned the perfect informal, relaxed wedding with a Tipi on the Croft in the gorgeous Ribble Valley village of Downham.
John’s grandparents are from Downham Village, so they were able to get married at the village church which you can only do if you live or relatives live within Downham, and given that all the houses are owned by the estate and rented to people who have been there most of there lives, it’s a pretty exclusive place to get married! They managed to get permission to hold their Tipi wedding reception on the croft by the river- the first wedding to have been held there.
Gemma & John wanted their day to be relaxed and fun so that guests could have an amazing time, they had giant Jenga outside, a help yourself shot bar and a hog roast for their wedding breakfast with no formal seating so guests just pulled up a chair with their favourite people and this made for the best party atmosphere!
Gemma wore a gorgeous Ian Stuart dress with exquisite detailing and John wore a very dapper blue three piece suit with shoes to match his gorgeous 18 month old son’s.
The speeches ended with the two best men giving very colourful anecdotes of their friendship with John including some suggestions regarding John’s favourite ‘adult entertainment’ which had the entire room in stitches (despite being a fabrication- obviously! don’t worry John I’ve got your back!).
After the first dance the guests piled onto the dance floor to help the lovely newlyweds celebrate and we finished the day with some obligatory sparklers before we left them to party!
